Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Bino collects no personal data. None. Everything your child does in a Bino app stays on your device.
This policy covers the Bino family of apps for children:
- Bino: Kids Safe Image Search: a kids-safe image search app.
- Bino: Kids Word Safari: a language-learning app where children photograph real objects to learn words.
- Bino: Kids Read Along: a reading app where children photograph a page of their own book and tap words to hear them read aloud.
Who we are
The Bino apps are made for children and published by Mahir Şentürk ("we", "us"). You can reach us any time at m@mhrsntrk.com.
What data we collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, in any Bino app. Specifically:
- No accounts or sign-ups; Bino apps work without any registration.
- No analytics or telemetry SDKs are integrated.
- No advertising of any kind, and no advertising SDKs.
- No tracking, profiling, or behavioral data collection.
- No cookies.
Anything your child creates (profiles, favorites, saved searches, learning progress) is stored only on your device, using Apple's on-device storage. It is never uploaded anywhere. Deleting an app deletes all of its data.
App-specific details
Bino: Kids Word Safari
Word Safari uses the device camera so your child can photograph real-world objects to match words:
- Every photo is processed entirely on the device using Apple's on-device image recognition. No photo is ever uploaded or transmitted.
- Photos are discarded immediately after the app checks for a match. Nothing is written to a photo library, and captured frames are never saved.
- The app works fully offline. There is no network connection, no server, and no account.
- Word audio is bundled inside the app and played locally. The pronunciation clips are AI-generated (neural text-to-speech), reviewed for accuracy.
iOS asks for your permission before the camera is first used, and you can revoke it any time in Settings.
Bino: Kids Read Along
Read Along uses the device camera (or a photo your child picks) so your child can capture a page of a physical book and tap its words:
- Each page image is read entirely on the device using Apple's on-device text recognition. No image is ever uploaded or transmitted.
- Page images live in memory only for the active reading session and are never written to disk and never saved to a photo library.
- Words are spoken aloud by Apple's on-device speech synthesis. The app does not listen: there is no microphone use and no voice recording of any kind.
- The app works fully offline. There is no network connection, no server, and no account.
- The words your child taps are saved only on the device, so the app can show a personal "words I cracked" collection.
iOS asks for your permission before the camera is first used, and you can revoke it any time in Settings.
Bino: Kids Safe Image Search
When your child searches for images, the search words are sent to the Brave Search API to retrieve image results. These requests:
- contain only the search words, with no names, no identifiers, and no profile information;
- are always made with SafeSearch locked to its strictest setting, which cannot be disabled;
- are subject to Brave's privacy policy, which does not build user profiles.
Voice search (a Pro feature) uses the device microphone and Apple's on-device speech recognition to turn your child's voice into a search query. Audio is processed for transcription only and is never stored or transmitted. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the app works fully without it.
Purchases
All purchases (subscriptions or one-time unlocks) are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment information. A parental gate protects every purchase and restore action.
Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)
The Bino apps are designed for children and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR-K, and Apple's Kids Category requirements. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, child or adult, there is no data to request, correct, or delete on any server. All data lives on your device under your control.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how a Bino app handles data, we will update this page and the app's privacy details on the App Store before the change takes effect.
